Student Program

Get a firsthand look at career options in the field of aging services. By participating in the student program, you’ll build your job searching skills, network with executives, and meet other students who share your desire to make a difference during innovative networking activities. Get the insight you need to make well-informed choices for your career—join us this October!

Registration
The program is open to students enrolled full-time or working full-time at an accredited college or university at the undergraduate or graduate level. Students must be at least 18 years old. See student registration information on the Registration Categories and Fees page.   • Annual Meeting Student Scholarship Information

    LeadingAge invites full-time students to submit scholarship applications for a chance to attend the meeting. Applicants can apply for either a Student Conference Registration Scholarship or a Student Full Scholarship. Please note, a limited number of Student Full Scholarships (Registration and Housing only) are available. See the scholarship application and acceptance schedule below.

    Student Conference Registration Scholarship includes:

    • Individual Student registration for the four-day conference (Sunday - Wednesday)
      (The student program begins on Sunday, October 24th, at the Georgia World Congress Center, in Atlanta, GA)

    Student Full Scholarship (Registration and Housing)* includes:

    • Individual Student registration for the four-day conference (Sunday - Wednesday)

    • Hotel accommodations (Sun, Mon, Tues nights - 3 nights only)

    • Free EXPO lunch included Monday and Tuesday (other meals not included)
      * Travel costs are not included with Student Full Scholarship

  • Office Hours

    Stop in and ask your questions during our LeadingAge Office Hours.  Subject matter experts will be available to answer questions.  Attend as many as you would like.  Topics/Schedule:

    • Monday:
      • 12:30: Lessons from the NextGen 
      • 1:30: Managing your digital brand (Possibly: Chris Mohrman, Markentum)
    • Tuesday:
      • 1:00: Life after your doctorate (Possibly: Robyn Stone, Len Fishman, UMass Boston, Kevin Hansen, etc.)
      • 1:30: Licensure (Possibly: Randy Lindner, NAB)
      • 2:00 Successful summer internships (Possibly: featuring SEP interns)

  • Student Networking Events

    The Student Networking events may be the most important networking events for students at LeadingAge. Now is the time to start your network of peers.  These networking events will include students from across the country studying all disciplines related to aging services. LeadingAge representatives will be available to share resources and programs for students while celebrating the work of students.  

    • Sunday 5 - 6 pm - Student Welcome Reception
    • Monday 4:30 - 5:30 pm - Student Program Celebration 
      • Case Comp Awards, Celebrating Summer Enrichment Program and The Mentor’s Voice)

  • Leaders-in-Residence

    LeadingAge has selected inspiring and accomplished leaders in the field of aging services to have lunch with students. Explore leadership concepts and career paths in a world cafe model session over lunch with current and future leaders of aging services.
